Deadhead Goes Viral for Wearing Stealie Shirt at UFC Fight... Turns Out To Be My Dad

I think it's built into Dad DNA that makes them love two things... those two things are classic rock and violent close-contact sports. This we know.

What I didn't know was that if you specified the band to be Grateful Dead, and the sport to be UFC, the combined result is a surprisingly balanced father-figure and businessman with a knack for knowing where to be and when.

The reason I'm telling you this is because on March 7th, I got this picture in a text from my mom, who was re-sending it to me:

What happened next, I don't think any one of us had expected. Now, my dad has a fair amount of charisma... he has to, it's his job. My dad works in the casino business, so he gets tickets to fun stuff like this so frequently, he often has to turn many offers down!

Later in the night, I got a message on Facebook from my friend Geoffrey. He shared a Reddit link (click here!), and in the thumbnail, I see a very familiar image... the red, white, and blue Steal Your Face logo, just like the one from the photo my mom had sent! I clicked it, and this is what I found:

As you can see from the comments by a one "smirkstudios," I couldn't help but expose how cool it was that that was MY DAD, a man who probably had no idea about the wonders of Reddit!

Not convinced that that's my dad? How about this picture of my handsome brother up close and personal with the legendary Octagon?

Still not convinced? What if I told you my dad has a working "friendship" with Dana White? Don't take my word for it...

Well, there you have it, folks! I know there's a lot of you wearing the shirt, but the way I see it, there can be only one Grateful Dad.
